Chinook Financial Service Updates

There is an ongoing issue at some merchant locations as a result of a software update on their point-of-sale devices. Unfortunately, this is resulting in cards  (debit & credit) being declined at locations including Lowes and certain Gas Pumps. Fixes are in the process of being deployed by these merchants.  It is expected that Superstore, Loblaw's Stores, and Costco will have updates implemented at all locations by the end of the week.

 

If you experience an issue with your debit card you could:

  • Use your Membercard Flash (Tap) functionality for transactions under $100, or split your transaction in two to allow for larger contactless transactions.

  • Enable and use your Mobile Wallet on your Mobile Phone for Samsung Pay or Apple Pay

Chinook debit and credit cards can still be used as normal for ATM withdrawals.
